Kamai Elevators Pvt. Ltd. was incorporated in 2014 in Chennai as the elevator manufacturing venture of the Kamai Group — a conglomerate whose parent company, Kamal Steel Corporation, has operated in Chennai for 36 years with a turnover exceeding ₹3,000 crore and authorised distributorships for JSW and Jindal Steel. That industrial foundation gave Kamai Elevators an immediate advantage: deep expertise in steel and component manufacturing, in-house manufacturing machinery, and the financial backbone to build a world-class elevator operation from day one.
Under the leadership of Managing Director Thoufiq Sultan — who previously directed elevator rope, handrail, and telescopic door production at Maika Metals — Kamai Elevators grew rapidly. By 2018 the company had processed 5,450+ orders, built a field workforce of 377+ skilled technical employees, and was maintaining 650+ elevators from other manufacturers in addition to its own installed base. Kamai Elevators had built extraordinary operational credibility over a decade — government tenders won, hospitals trusting their lifts with critical patient care, 5,450+ installations completed with a zero-customer-dissatisfaction policy. But the Indian lift and elevator market increasingly begins online. Architects, project managers, housing developers, hospital administrators, and government procurement teams all search digitally before they shortlist vendors. Kamai’s earned reputation needed a digital home that could communicate its scale, safety credentials, and government-sector trust to a buyer who might first discover them through a Google search.
Serving 8 cities simultaneously created both an opportunity and a complexity: each city required its own local search presence, while the national institutional client base needed to see a single authoritative brand that could handle government- scale contracts across South India. The website needed to serve both audiences — the small developer in Trichy looking for a passenger lift and the procurement officer in Delhi researching a certified lift manufacturer for an all-India contract.
