ABOUT SVALZ

Born in the mills — not the office

Svalz was not built in a boardroom. It was built across 13 years of field experience — in silos, in mills, in the unforgiving heat of tropical grain storage facilities where the stakes are measured in tonnes of spoiled harvest and seasons of lost income. Founder Pari Mamallan, a Mechanical Engineer with a Master’s degree from TFH Berlin, spent over a decade working globally across cranes, silos, and grain storage systems — studying precisely how grain behaves inside modern silo complexes and where existing cooling technology fails.

 His insight was sharp and consequential: grain cooling technology had existed for fifty years but had not evolved to meet the scale, climate extremes, and energy demands of today’s storage operations. With co-founder Jagannathan, a specialist in thermal and fluid engineering, Pari set out to engineer something the industry had never seen — a purpose-

built, scientifically rigorous, climate-adapted grain cooling system built from first principles, not adapted from older designs. The result is GrainVault™, and behind it, Svalz.

Svalz draws its name and spirit from the Svalbard Global Seed Vault — the world’s most trusted symbol of agricultural preservation. “SVAL” means “cool” in Norwegian. That same philosophy of protection, permanence, and global responsibility drives every GrainVault unit — but Svalz goes further. Not a copy of the concept. An engineering evolution of it. THE CHALLENGE

A category-defining engineering product — with no brand, no digital presence, and no market vocabulary to borrow from

 Svalz entered the market as a genuinely new kind of company in an old industry. Grain cooling is not a new concept,but purpose-built, climate-segmented, IoT-enabled grain cooling systems targeted at millers and grain operators as apremium engineered product — that was new. There was no established brand playbook to follow, no obviouscompetitor visual language to differentiate from, and no existing online audience searching for what Svalz was building.

The challenge was threefold: Build a brand identity from zero. Create a website that explains a complex product. Build SEO from scratch for a niche category.
